Syracuse Public Library has several programs the week of Nov. 10-15:
Holiday Events Begin in November
Children can make gifts for their loved ones or just come to the Syracuse Library to make some useful crafts every Wednesday this holiday season. Plenty of adults will be in the children’s department to help with knitting and crocheting projects.
The library has many choices of yarn, but children are encouraged to have their own knitting needles or crochet hook. However, no worries, the library has plenty of tools to get everyone started.
The Syracuse Library is exchanging food for fines later in the month. The food is taken to the Syracuse Food Pantry. The library will remove overdue fines, or accept and take donations to the food pantry where they distribute food and toiletry items to families in need of assistance.
Book Clubs
The adult book club, One Book, One Hour, meets the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. The Nov. 12 group is discussing, “Maisie Dobbs”, by Jacqueline Winspeare.
“Maisie Dobbs” is an investigator in a mystery series that begins during the First World War and travels forward through another decade and nine more books. The group welcomes new members.
The monthly Children’s Book Club is meeting, from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11. Children from kindergarten to fifth grade are welcome to join an evening of reading, the turkey hop, and snacks.
Connect at the Library
NaNoWriMo is meeting on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the November write-in. Writers are welcome to congregate in the meeting room of the library as a change of creative scenery and to bump into other people working to produce 50,000 words during the month of November.
Preschoolers have social opportunities with the last Book Buddies meeting at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10. Say cheese and investigate bone health is the theme for the morning.
Tuesday’s story time is an adventure look at the letter E.
