WCHS Band Students Accepted To Honor Bands
Eleven members of the Warsaw Community High School Band have been accepted to the All-District and All-Region Honor Bands hosted by the Indiana Bandmasters Association in November.
Emily Baumgartner (clarinet), Kyle Christenberry (euphonium), Kristin Conley (French horn), Jannalynn Niebbia (flute), Noah Scott (French horn), and Kole Smith (trumpet) will participate in the All-District Band on Nov. 15 and 16. Katharine Engler (flute), Claire Hubner (oboe), Connor O’Hara (clarinet), Autumn Proudfoot (clarinet), and Kaitlynn Zorn (tenor saxophone) will participate in the All-Region Band on Nov. 22 and 23.
Both honor bands will rehearse and perform at DeKalb High School on their respective weekends.
The All-District Band accepts close to one hundred top band students in grades 10 through 12 from across north-eastern Indiana. The All-Region Band is comprised of approximately one hundred top band students in grades 7 through 9 from the same area. Students are accepted into the honor bands based on their abilities and on the recommendation of their directors. The WCHS Bands are under the direction of Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel.
