Wayne L. Schrock
Wayne L. Schrock, 78, of Nappanee, Ind., died peacefully at 1:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at The Maples in Goshen, Ind. He was born April 29, 1936, in Goshen to Levi J. and Martha (Miller) Schrock. On May 16, 1957, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Hochstetler in Goshen.
Wayne was a member of Maple Lawn Mennonite Church. He was a retired carpenter and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed winters in Sarasota, Fla., with his wife. He also enjoyed working outdoors and gardening.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 57 years are 3 daughters: Lorraine (Jonas) Gingerich, Nappanee, Verda (Joseph) Gingerich, Sarasota, Fla., Ruth (Reinhart) Burkholder, Milford; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers: Mervin (Anna Mary) Schrock and Ernest Lee (Anna Mae) Schrock, both of Goshen; sisters: Anna Marie (the late Ervin) Miller, Millersburg, Ohio, Verda (Perry) Yoder, Goshen, and Vera Mae (the late Joe) Yoder, Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Lyle Dean; brothers: Freeman (infant) and Wilbur.
Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Nov. 8 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Maple Lawn Mennonite Church, 29267 CR 52, Nappanee. Funeral Services will take place at the Church, Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Maple Lawn Pastors. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
