Yeo Paces Pilots To Victory
MISHAWAKA – Clay Yeo made his first-ever home game for Bethel College one to remember Friday night.
The star sophomore poured in a game-high 31 points as the Pilots rallied to top Lawrence Tech University 75-72 in the opening night of the Gates Automotive Classic in the Wiekamp Center.
Yeo, a sophomore guard who transferred to Bethel after playing at Valparaiso University last season, hit 13-19 shots from the field in the win.
Yeo, the former Triton High School standout and Indiana All-Star, hit 3-5 from 3-point range. He also had six rebounds and four steals as Bethel improved to 4-0 on the season.
Tech was on fire from the field in the opening half Friday night. The guests hit 17-32 shots, including 9-17 on 3-point tries, to take a 45-34 halftime lead.
Matt Schauss had 17 points for the Pilots.
Bethel hosts Calumet College today at 3 p.m. in the final game of the Gates Automotive Classic.
