NWS Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and special weather statement for the Kosciusko County area — specifically noting the cities of Ligonier, Plymouth, Bremen, Culver, Warsaw, Winona Lake, Syracuse, Mentone, Columbia City, South Whitley and Fort Wayne.
According to the NWS, lake effect snow showers will increase throughout the day and will persist into the evening with between 2 to 4 inches of snow possible over far southwest lower Michigan and into Northern Indiana by late tonight. Brief reductions in visibility are possible. Light accumulations may create localized slick spots on area highway roads and the NWS urges motorist to take caution and account for variable driving conditions.
From Friday, Nov. 14 to Wednesday, Nov. 19, very cold air will persist through the region into next week. Lake effect snow showers are likely early next week with additional accumulations likely.
