Lady Warriors Make It Three In A Row
LAGRANGE – After an 0-2 start to the season, Wawasee’s girls basketball team has won three games in a row. The latest victim was Prairie Heights Saturday evening, 35-30.
Kylee Rostochak led the Lady Warriors (3-2) with 15 points, Allissa Flores notching six points and Elizabeth Jackson five points. Wawasee managed the win despite hitting just 13 of 27 free throw attempts and scoring just six points in the fourth quarter.
Alicia Beechy and Haley Kleeberg each scored nine points for Prairie Heights (2-3), which didn’t score more than nine points in any quarter and were just nine of 17 from the foul line.
Wawasee is 2-2 against the Northeast Corner Conference this season, having beaten Lakeland earlier in the week before losses to Fairfield and Westview to open the season. Wawasee beat South Bend Career Academy, 74-6, Friday evening.
Wawasee’s junior varsity won its matchup with Prairie Heights, 36-23, to move to 2-2 this season.
The Lady Warriors will next play Saturday in the Triton Tournament, opening with Triton and facing either Leo or Pendleton Heights in the nightcap.
