The Kosciusko Board of Realtors Community Service Committee extended its rich history of community involvement in November through their 2014 Boots for Scholars Program. KBOR believes that children and families are made stronger when the community works together as partners to assist those families in need.
The Boots for Scholars program provides free gift cards to elementary school children to purchase boots for the school year; the program was started over ten years ago. For the second year, KBOR partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and donated 20, $30 Shoe Carnival Gift Card’s, a total of $600, to children involved in the Big Brother Big Sister’s mentoring programs throughout Kosciusko County.
On Friday Nov. 14, members of KBOR’s Community Service Committee met, Brittany Redinger, Community and Site Based Match Support Specialist, and a group of “Bigs and Littles” to accept their Shoe Carnival Gift Cards.
KBOR and BBBS have partnered with Shoe Carnival two years in a row and appreciates Shoe Carnival manager, Jan Vines and her staff for their hospitality and dedication to the community.
