Concert To Raise Trafficking Awareness
Thousands of people around the world are reportedly trafficked every few seconds, something organizations like Destiny Rescue are trying to stop.
However, they cannot do it alone.
That is why they are enlisting the help of the local community.
At 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, Destiny Rescue will host Christian singer/songwriter Shawn McDonald at the Wagon Wheel Theater, 2515 E. Center St., Warsaw.
“More than 3,000 new children are forced into the sex trade every day,” Destiny Rescue USA CEO Barbara Everett said. “They are having their innocence stolen in ways that most of us would find soul-destroying. With a life span of just four to seven years once they’ve been trafficked, the reality is that many of them won’t survive if someone doesn’t rescue them. I am not OK with that.”
Destiny Rescue has invited human trafficking survivor Chong Kim to describe how she was rescued from slavery and given a second chance.Kim recently completed her memoir, titled, “Broken Silence,” which describes human trafficking from a survivor’s point of view. Her story has also been made into a movie, “Eden.”
The event in Warsaw will also feature Nick Stanton and Art 4 Abolition.
