Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
9:24 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, East CR 450N and EMS C29 Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Russell E. Carson, 58, East CR 450N, Leesburg. Hit two deer. Damage up to $2,500.

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
1:47 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, Oak Pointe Crossing, south of Carrington Boulevard, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon I. Cory, 17, Sophie Lane, Warsaw. Police found an abandoned vehicle stuck in loose gravel in a playground. It appeared the vehicle went off the roadway, going over a railroad tie bordering the playground and becoming stuck under the vehicle. Attempts to contact the owner of the vehicle were unsuccessful. At 4:04 a.m. the driver of the vehicle made contact with police. Cory stated he rounded the curve at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle. He only had a valid learner’s permit with no licensed driver in the vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
6:58 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, Lake City Highway, east of Springhill Road, Warsaw. Driver Ocxiel Sanchez, 18, East Joshua Drive, Warsaw. Sanchez was westbound and noticed a large black tarp or piece of plastic in his lane of travel. Sanchez was unable to change lanes due to traffic next to his. He attempted to avoid the object but could not. His vehicle struck a tarp rolled up and folded in half. Damage up to $2,500.
