LCA Drops Two In Classic
WINONA LAKE – The first day of the Lakeland Christian Classic did not as planned for the host Cougars.
The LCA boys basketball team dropped both of its games Friday to move to 0-9 on the season.
The Cougars started their day out by playing Clinton Christian and the Couriers rode Nathan Stutzman’s 25 points to a 58-33 victory over LCA. Stutzman was far and away the leading scorer in the game, though teammate Josh Horst did add 13 for Clinton.
LCA was led in that first game by Conner Blum’s 12-point outing.
LCA took on South Bend Trinity next and were downed by the Titans for the third time this season by score of 72-48.
Pat Morin (16 points) and Jacob Yant (14) led the Titans in scoring while LCA was lead by a huge game from Carter Twombly, who scored 21 points.
LCA will continue the Classic Saturday evening when it hosts Covenant Christian (DeMotte) at 5:30 p.m.
