Deer Goes Through Windshield, Lands In Passenger’s Lap
A deer went through a car windshield and landed in the passenger’s lap this morning in LaGrange county. Officers responded to an accident involving two vehicles and a deer in the early morning hours on County Road 700 S. just west of County Road 080 E.
James Fredrick, 64, of Wolcottville was driving eastbound and Mya Than, 58, of Fort Wayne was traveling westbound when a deer ran into Fredrick’s path as the two vehicles were passing each other.
Fredrick struck the deer, which then went airborne and hit the windshield of Than’s vehicle, shattering the glass and landing in the lap of Than’s passenger, Khin Aye. The deer was killed on impact.
Aye was transported to Parkview LaGrange Hospital for facial lacerations. Neither driver was injured.
LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the LaGrange Police Department, Johnson Township Fire Department and Parkview EMS.
