ELKHART – A valiant performance by the Lakeland Christian Academy girls basketball team came up just short Friday night.

The Cougars came up on the short end of a 53-51 loss at Elkhart Christian Academy.

Ashley Ormsby led the way for LCA with 14 points and nine rebounds in the contest.

Rachel Sand continued her strong season with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars.

Hannah Delp scored eight points as did Maryl Gerst for LCA. Carissa Urschalitz had five points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars.

LCA drops to 7-14 on the season, while ECA improves to 6-12.

LCA hosts Lakewood Park Christian Tuesday night. ECA hosts Lakewood Park Christian Saturday night.
