Stutzman Makes Statement On President’s Budget

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued this statement following the release of President Obama’s budget for fiscal year 2016.
“President Obama’s nearly $4 trillion budget is a bloated package of increased taxes and increased spending that never balances. His $320 billion tax hike will slow economic growth and harm the chances of finding work for Americans already struggling to find a job. Instead of proposing a set of meaningful reforms to fix our entitlement programs and lower our national debt, the president has instead decided to try and grow a federal government that is already way too big. We desperately need to get our fiscal house in order.
“If we are going to strengthen our economy and create jobs, we need a budget that cuts taxes and reduces burdensome regulations so that more working families have a chance to prosper and live the American Dream. Unfortunately, the president’s proposal appears to be another missed opportunity to achieve this goal.”
