Donald M. Fisher
Donald M. Fisher, 91, of Bourbon, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 in Wampler’s Senior Care, Bourbon.
Donald was born Dec. 31, 1923 to Virgil and Anna (Fox) Fisher in Marshall County, Indiana. On April 4, 1948 he married Josephine Scott who died Nov. 3, 1956. On Dec. 21, 1957 he married Ilah (Hartzell) who survives.
He had farmed for Hod Mikel and then for Loren Hahn from 1976 to 1988. He was then Janitor at Triton High School from 1976 to 1988. He loved to garden and do yard work. He loved the land. In his younger days he enjoyed coon hunting, fox hunting and playing softball. He loved to play dominos and still was playing dominos at the age of 91. He was a faithful member of the Hepton Union Church, Nappanee.
He was a loving husband and wonderful, loving, fun Dad to two daughters; Jean and Lisa both of Bourbon. Also surviving are two brothers; Dean (Nancy) Fisher, Plymouth, Wayne (Sharon) Fisher, Bremen, and a sister-in-law LaVern Fisher, Bourbon.
Proceeding in death was his parents, two brothers; James and Hershel and an infant son.
The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015 to share memories in Hepton Union Church 9266 W. Hepton Road Nappanee.
A celebration of Don’s life will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eric Eichoff of Hepton Union Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood.
The family asks that memorial contributions be directed to Marshall County Hospice and Palliative Care or Christian Development Center of Nappanee.
