Elkhart County 4-H Tractor Clubs To Meet
By ROBERT KELLY
Extension Educator, Purdue Extension Elkhart County
Would you like to learn about tractor and lawn tractor safety? If so, the 4-H Farm Tractor and Garden Tractor clubs are for you. You don’t have to live on a farm or even own a farm or garden tractor to be a member of the 4-H Tractor clubs.
Members learn about tractor safety, maintenance and even learn how to properly drive equipment. The Farm Tractor and Garden Tractor 4-H clubs are open to all youth in third grade through high school. For youth in first and second grade the Mini 4-H program in Elkhart County also offers a tractor project.
The first meeting for the 4-H Tractor clubs has been set for Thursday, March 5.
This year the 4-H Garden Tractor club will meet in the Home and Family Arts building starting at 6 p.m., while the 4-H Farm Tractor club will meet at 7 p.m. in the Eastern Star Building, both of which are located on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Additional meetings for the clubs will be on Thursday, March 12, Thursday, March 19, and Thursday, March 26.
4-H Online enrollment has ended this year, but we are still accepting 4-H members. You may enroll in 4-H by coming to the Purdue Extension Elkhart County office located at 17746 CR 34, Goshen.
Our office hours are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For additional information about the 4-H Tractor clubs and other programs, please contact the Purdue Extension Elkhart County office at (574) 533-0554 or visit our website at www.extension.purdue.edu/elkhart.
