Kosciusko Community Hospital offers assistance to accommodate residents yet to enroll for health insurance through HIP 2.0. HIP 2.0 is a health care coverage program for Indiana’s low-income adults and would replace traditional Medicaid for all non-disabled adults.
HIP 2.0 adds choices for Hoosiers while providing new incentives for members to take personal responsibility for their health.
Beginning Feb. 19, KCH began holding Open Enrollment Fairs in the front lobby and will continue each Thursday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. to assist community members who are interested in filling out a HIP 2.0 application.
Under the Affordable Care Act, 2015 is the first year Americans must prove they had qualifying health insurance, or an approved exemption, for the previous year when filing 2014 taxes. Those who don’t will face a tax penalty.
HIP 2.0 is a program designed to cover Indiana residents aged 19-64 who are not eligible for Medicare or Medicaid. The program also includes all non-disabled adults who are currently enrolled in Medicaid.
