In 2004, Matt Suddon began working for the Kozon crew as a warehouse assistant and transitioned into a crew worker in the field, after his graduation from Wawasee High School in 2005.

Suddon quickly picked up mechanical skills, especially plumbing. In May of 2007 he enlisted into the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Riley, Ka. From there he deployed for 15 months to Iraq, to fight the war on terror. Upon his return, he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky as an explosive dog handler.

Another deployment followed, this time for 12 months, to Afghanistan to work next to Special Forces being utilized to find bombs. While state side, he was tasked with a couple POTUS Missions, working next to the Secret Service, and also worked a narcotics dog in the fight against drugs in local communities.

While deployed, Suddon was able to use his skills he learned while employed at Kozon Plumbing & Heating, to take very limited plumbing materials and plumb up four washers and dryers and three showers for his base. This was a difficult, but encouraging feat, with the inadequate supplies at hand. It makes us as a team and family proud that his skills, taught by Kozon owners, were able to aid troops so far away.

Back when his employer and co-workers said “so longs” and “see you laters,” he was told he would have a spot when he was finished in the military. That time has come and he has been welcomed back to the team of Kozon Plumbing & Heating.

Along with his wife Freya and his two children, he is, for a second time, calling Syracuse “home.” Suddon will once again be a Field Technician for the Kozon Crew. The company is looking forward to having him back home and are thankful for his years of service to his country.
