Mary Ruth (Hartman) Thompson
Mary Ruth (Hartman) Thompson, 87, of 15th Road, Plymouth, died on Feb. 26, 2015, at 1:17 a.m. at the Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Rochester. She had been in declining health for several months.
Mary was born on Nov. 27, 1927, in Culver, to Lawrence and Orpha (Ringer) Hartman. She had lived in Marshall County all of her life. On June 12, 1955, in Argos, she married John Richard Thompson, he preceded her on Feb. 15, 1999.
Mary was a housewife and helped her husband operate their family farm. She also worked at McDonald’s and was a meter reader for REMC. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, now Cornerstone Church of Argos, Indiana; and belonged to the Extension Homemakers Club and Home & Hobby Club. Mary was a graduate of Culver High School with the class of 1946
She is survived by her daughter: Susan (John) Botset, Rochester; two grandchildren: Danielle Stayton, Rochester; David Stayton, Plymouth; brothers: Darwin Hartman, Culver; and Leo (Marge) Hartman, Plymouth.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband: John Richard Thompson; and infant daughter: Becky Ruth Thompson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 12 p.m. March 2, at the funeral home with Pastor John Fishburn. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
