March Into The Future With First Friday
After a successful kick off to the 2015 First Friday season with Fire & Ice in February, organizers are taking a different angle for the March installment of the popular downtown celebration.
The theme for March First Friday is “March Into Future Opportunities.” There are a number of worthwhile opportunities that anyone can participate in to better the Warsaw community. Come to downtown Warsaw from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 to find out about them.
Many of the local community groups and service organizations well be represented. The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, Kiwanis, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Red Cross, Jag – just to name a few – will be there. Additionally, the Heartline Pregnancy Center bus will be there, Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, Warsaw Cooperative Preschool, Warsaw Secret Fitness and Origami Owl will be set up downtown too.
The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club will be holding a Oratorical (public speaking) Contest. The contest will be held at 7 p.m. on the third floor of the Kosciusko County Court House the night of the event.
Since we’re looking into the future in March, we’ll unveil the themes for upcoming First Friday events. First Friday April will be “Back to the Future,” and then there’s Musical May. Organizers are currently looking for local musicians who might like to bring their musical talents to the First Friday crowds.
Furthermore, Bike Into The Bicentennial is the overarching theme of 2015. Much like the Seward Johnson Walk-N-Wander exhibit last year, organizers want to decorate downtown Warsaw with decorative bikes. Bicycles, tricycles, basically anything with wheels and pedals, can be creatively decorated and donated for display between May 1 and October. Bikes should have a family friendly theme and be weather proof.
