Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
5:58 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, North Park Avenue and East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Anna B. Burnett, 88, North Park Avenue, Warsaw, and Kimberly A. Cano, 28, Wooster Road, Winona Lake. Burnett’s vehicle struck the Cano vehicle while turning onto Center Street. Damage up to $2,500.
5:14 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, East Center Street, east of South Taft Street, Warsaw. Driver: Heaven C. Vick, 20, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw, and Phyllis R. Bowser, 27, North Barbee Road, Warsaw. Vick’s vehicle hit the back of the Bowser vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
4:34 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, East CR 200N, west of Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Robert M. Fullmer, 38, Edgewood Drive, Ashland, Ohio and Rajendrakumar Z Patel, 47, Russet Street, Racine, Wisc. Fullmer’s vehicle hit the back of the Patel vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
4:27 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, East Winona Avenue and Indiana, Warsaw Drivers: Linda S. Gatke, 71, West CR 300 S, Warsaw, and Donald R. Taylor, 74, East Main Street, Warsaw. Gatke turned in front of the Taylor vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
3:41 p.m Wednesday, March 11, South Buffalo Street and Fisher Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: V.J. Hook, 79, Court Street, Winona Lake, and Dustin C. Mayer, 40, North Runkle Drive, Warsaw. Hook failed to see the Mayer vehicle as she was pulling out onto Fisher Avenue. Damage up to $2,500.
3:33 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, North Parker Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert L. Dust, 85, South Lakeside Drive, Syracuse, and Kingsley K. Ohene, 51, Omega Drive, Cleveland, Ohio. Injured: Dust and a passenger Dorothy J. Baker, 89, East Sunrise Drive, Syracuse. Both complained of soreness to their chest, ribs and abdomen regions and were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Dust stopped on Parker Street and thought he had a green light and made a right turn. His vehicle struck the tires of Ohene’s semitrailer. Ohene and a witness stated traffic on Lake City Highway had the green light and that Dust disregarded the light. Ohene attempted to avoid the accident. It was found the frame was bent on the trailer and the trailer’s brakes were not working efficiently, or properly and was towed until it could be repaired. The brakes were not damaged due to the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
12:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, East Center Street, north of North Roosevelt Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Rex A. Rife, 64, S. Brallier Road, Pierceton, and Kelley J. Strand, 51, Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw. Rife pulled out of the parking lot at Penguin Point, failing to see the Strand vehicle traveling on East Center Street. Damage up to $2,500
1:12 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, North Harrison Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Samantha L. Shell, 18, West CR 300S, South Whitley ,and Andrea L. Risner, 31, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Shell failed to see the Risner vehicle as she began to crossed the intersection. Damage up to $2,500
