Park Foundation Hears Updates
Syracuse-Wawasee Parks Foundation board convened Tuesday evening for a brief meeting to hear reports on parks projects.
Dr. Tom Edington announced a trails project community meeting. The agenda will include a presentation of future trail development, followed by a question and answer session for homeowners with concerns regarding the Harkless trail. Representatives from the trails committee, town board, Syracuse police and Pulver Construction will be available to address citizen concerns. The informative meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive.
Parks superintendent Chad Jonsson updated the board on continued planning at Laudeman Park and Harold Schrock Athletic Complex. He reported batting cages will be installed at the athletic complex and potential ideas are being considered for Laudeman Park.
Jonsson also presented the board with a detailed community center endowment report at their request.
Edington also reported a meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, in the Wawasee High School lecture room to begin talks about the future of the Syracuse Elementary School.
The committee is scheduled to meet again at 6 p.m. April 28.
