Investigators from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who was involved in a robbery earlier this morning in New Paris.

At approximately 6:06 a.m. Anthony J. Conrad, 19, was leaving his residence in the 68000 block of North Main Street in New Paris, when a white male, wearing a brown hooded zip up sweatshirt approached him. Conrad was threatened with a knife. The suspect demanded Conrad’s wallet and after taking approximately $35 in cash, the suspect fled from the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male with a scruffy beard, 25 to 35 years of age, 6-foot, 1inch, weighing approximately 230 pounds.He was wearing a brown hooded zip up sweatshirt, black pants and dark colored boots.
