IEDC Hires PR Firm To Strengthen Indiana’s Global Brand
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) has retained Porter Novelli to support ongoing public relations initiatives to continue strengthening Indiana’s global brand reputation as a welcoming place to live, visit and do business.
“Indiana continues to have one of the best business climates in the country and hosts a robust travel, tourism and hospitality industry,” said Victor Smith, Indiana Secretary of Commerce. “We are engaging with our partners in state tourism and the internationally-respected firm Porter Novelli to enhance our state’s image and remind the country that Indiana remains a great place to live, work and visit.”
The IEDC, in collaboration with the Indiana Office of Tourism Development (IOTD), is leading the coordination of all state agencies in this effort. The IEDC has signed an initial letter of engagement with Porter Novelli to define the scope of work and develop a budget for the project.
“Now more than ever, we want to remind the world that Hoosiers welcome everyone and that Indiana is a great place for individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses to reach their full potential,” said Smith. “That’s why we are moving forward with this initiative together.”
Porter Novelli is one of the world’s leading public relations agencies, with 90 offices worldwide. The agency combines deep experience and expertise in working with clients facing challenging situations, while successfully engaging a diverse mix of audiences on a broad range of issues.
“We look forward to working with Indiana’s economic development and tourism teams to help communicate the incredible and innovative story that is Indiana today,” said Brad MacAfee, president of Porter Novelli’s North America region and a graduate of Indiana University. “We are honored to be selected as the agency to support the state in this important assignment.”
