Award Winning Dance Troupe Presents Concert
By TAMMY SEIBOLD
Class Act Dance Troupe brings their award winning pieces to the Warsaw Community High School performing arts center at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19. This non-profit performing company was created in 1986 to provide students with additional opportunities to utilize their dance training and has grown into much more.
The company of 25 students, ages 9 to 17, has performed for such events as Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days, the Legacy program in New York City and for the Harlem Globetrotters, as well as focusing on community involvement through local performances.
“This concert will showcase the artistry, talent and dedication of our students,” says CADT co-director Tammy Seibold. “We have everything from a delightfully whimsical ballet piece created by Milwaukee based choreographer Melissa Anderson, to an emotionally charged contemporary piece by guest artist Donna Zeigler and the award-winning modern piece, Symbols, by DCSD alumnus Hannah Crane. The variety of this show will offer something for everyone.”
Seibold continues, “Our students are passionate about dance and it shows in every movement. You can feel their intensity as they portray the impact of life’s pressures in Insecure, then with just as much conviction whisk you away to the light-hearted world of Bonjour Paris. As the show unfolds, you will be amazed at the versatility of these dancers.”
Tickets are $9 and may be purchased online at collierdance.com/cadt-tickets-2, at the door, or at Debra Collier’s School of Dance at (574) 267-7055. Proceeds from the performance benefit the CADT scholarship fund.
