Final Tales
Not only are we saying goodbye to April, but the last week of the month has other final events at the Syracuse Library. Food from Fiction and spring story time are having their last meetings on Monday and Thursday. Food from Fiction returns in January, and the next story time will begin in October.
Children are going to the Wawasee Bowl for a celebration party to bowl at the bowling alley. Children and caretakers can meet at the bowling alley at 10 a.m. Monday, April 27. Shoes will be provided by the bowling alley and donations will be accepted to defray expenses.
Food from Fiction is a winter time book club. The last meeting is about chocolate and is in conjunction with the “Chocoholics” series by Joanna Carl. Readers are invited to attend the discussion and tour at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Olympia Candy Kitchen. A discussion about chocolate and “The Chocolate Mouse Trap” mystery will accompany refreshments purchased at the restaurant. Groups will leave the library at 12:30 p.m. for anyone wishing to share a ride.
Continuing Stories
Meet the Doctor in a Monopoly version of the “Doctor Who” game. The library has had season four available to check out and view for awhile, so the quiz will review season four. The group will move on to season five in May. The theme food is puffs of the cutest little aliens ever, the Adipose people. Anyone that is interested in the Doctor Who series is invited to spend the evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29.
The adult reading contest has a final drawing for prizes on Saturday, May 23, so there is plenty of time to enter. Contestants simply write the name of the book that was checked out from the library when returning the book.
