The second annual Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce Career Fair, GPS 2 Success, was held Tuesday, April 14 in collaboration with Kosciusko Leadership Academy and WorkOne.
Over 2,500 11th- and 12th-grade students attended the college and career fair. Students were bussed in from Lakeland Christian Academy, Tippecanoe Valley School, Warsaw Community Schools, Wawasee Community Schools and Whitko Community School corporations.
Students had the opportunity to find summer or part time employment as well as learn more about college and career options. Many students came dressed interview ready and some even brought resumes. Educators encouraged students to talk with exhibitors about what are the expectations for the hiring process as well as ‘best practices’ of excellent employees.
Exhibitors were pleased with the success of the event, one commenting “Couldn’t have been better”. Companies that were looking to hire part time especially liked the large amount of students in one location from each of the school districts, without having to visit each school individually.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, along with KLA and WorkOne, would like to thank everyone who participated in GPS 2 Success. We look forward to continuing this annual event.
