Norma Ellen Pinkerton
Norma Ellen Pinkerton, age 95, of Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake, passed away at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at Grace Village Health Care of Winona Lake.
She attended Warsaw Schools and lived her entire life in the Warsaw area. Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, and a longtime member of Rozella Ford Golf Course. She and her late husband were avid golfers, and she was a member of the ladies golf league at Rozella. She loved her lunch bunch that she ate with for many years. Norma loved being Grandma Pink to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The past four years she resided at Grace Village where she was a favorite of many of the staff and she always had a big smile.
Norma was born on Sept. 3, 1919 in Warsaw, to Roy T. Adams and Mary M. (Herrin) Adams. On Sept. 30, 1935 she was married to John L. Pinkerton, who passed away on May 2, 1991.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Larry (Beth) Pinkerton, Plymouth; two daughters: Karen Baum, Asheboro, North Carolina; Lana Griswold, Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her brother: Kent (Nancy) Adams, Winona Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister: Margery Kintzel; brother: Don Adams; and her son-in-law: George Griswold.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. It will be officiated by Chaplain Bryan Benjamin. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorial donations in Norma’s name may be directed to Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, or to Harbor Light Hospice, Mishawaka.
