Congresswoman Jackie Walorski will host a reception recognizing this year’s 2015 Congressional Art Competition finalists from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at the South Bend International Airport.
Walorski, along with members of her staff, will welcome guests including the top 11 finalists, their family members, and judges. During the reception, Walorski will announce the first and second place winners and the recipient whose artwork received the most “Likes” on Walorski’s official Facebook page.
The Congressional Art Competition was established in 1982 to give members of Congress the opportunity to recognize artistic talent among their constituents. It takes place nationwide and open to all high school students. During the next year, the first place winner will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol and the second place winner will have their artwork displayed in the Congresswoman’s Mishawaka District Office.
The airport is located on 4477 Progress Drive, South Bend. Parking is available in the short term parking lot.
