Indiana Venues Named To ‘Best Ballparks In The Minors’
Two Hoosier minor league ballparks have been named among the nation’s best by Baseball America. Fort Wayne’s Parkview Field and Victory Field in Indianapolis both placed in the top ten on the list.
Baseball America surveyed more than 100 minor league general managers, radio announcers, league observers and others involved in the game to help create the rankings.
Parkview Field, home of the Fort Wayne Tincaps, came in fifth on the list. Chosen for several reasons such as the variety of seating options, the menu and the setting, responders said that the park “feels major league.”
The Indianapolis Indians’ Victory Field was ranked sixth on the list. Praised for the commitment to maintenance that has kept the older ballpark up-to-date and given it a modern feel, one comment from the survey called the park “so clean you could eat off the concourse floor.”
