Valley Senior Duo Honored By Conference
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley duo of Taylor Trippiedi and Hanna Dalrymple were among the student-athletes honored by the Three Rivers Conference.
The pair of seniors each earned the TRC Mental Attitude Awards for their respective sports.
Trippiedi helped the Valley girls basketball team to a historic season as the team earned a Class 3-A state runner-up finish. Trippiedi, a guard for coach Chris Kindig’s squad, helped the Vikings post a 25-3 record with conference, sectional, regional and semistate championships. The regional and semistate titles were the first in program history.
Trippiedi had 11 points and five rebounds in a loss to Princeton in the Class 3-A state championship game. Following that game, she was presented with the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award for Class 3-A by the IHSAA.
Dalrymple was the No. 1 singles player this spring for the Valley girls tennis team.
Athletes were nominated by their coaches for the Mental Attitude Award. They had to be in the top five percent of their class and have scored 1550 or higher on the SAT. The awards also looked at athletic accomplishments and citizenship.
