North Webster Memorial Day Parade
This year’s North Webster Memorial Day services started with a parade, Monday morning. The parade started at the downtown stoplight and ended at the North Webster Cemetery.
The Wawasee Middle School Marching Pride, American Legion Post 253, Lions Karate and many more groups participated in the parade.
Once the parade arrived at the North Webster Cemetery it was time for the Memorial Day services. The Memorial Day service was led by the American Legion Post 253 to honor those who dedicated their lives to our country.
The Boy Scouts performed the Pledge of Allegiance and The Wawasee Middle School Marching Pride performed the Star Spangled Banner.
Don Roulo was the speaker at this year’s service. Roulo stressed that everyone remembers the true meaning of Memorial Day and use the day to honor and remember our country’s heroes.
Chaplin Russ Chandler, retired Air force Master Sergent sang “I’m Proud to be an American.”
Bob Harding, member of American Legion Post 253, read the Post Everlasting. The list consisted of the names of the members of the American Legion Post 253 who lost their lives this past year.
To conclude the service the Honor Guard performed the 21-gun salute.
