S-W Chamber Gets New Digs
Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce won’t be moving far; in fact, it’ll just be moving to the main level of the former Leisure Pools building. During its regular meeting Wednesday, June 3, Assistant Director Kristi Martin stated the chamber’s new address will be 108 E. Main St., Syracuse.
Martin added the move would not mean new terms in the chamber’s lease, though it might bring water savings. Additionally, the chamber won’t be moving alone. “The (Syracuse-Wawasee) Trails will be moving down as well,” she added.
So far, the floors are finished in the new location. Martin said it’s been estimated the chamber will be able to start moving downstairs shortly before July 1. As far as signage, there is the possibility of using window decals.
The chamber’s cyber presence, www.swchamber.com, has already experienced changes, making it more mobile friendly. Martin noted it is now easier for Executive Director Tammy Cotton and herself to update it. Chamber members will also be able to more easily post their news.
In other chamber news:
• Work continues on the golf outing, scheduled for June 17. Several sponsors are still needed, including an event sponsor and lunch sponsor. The chamber is also looking for giveaway items.
• It was shared the chamber awarded its scholarship to Cameron Krizman.
• Progress continues on the new “Welcome to Syracuse” signs, with the board of zoning appeals approving the location near Wawasee Middle School. The north sign’s final location is still being determined.
Next chamber meeting will be at noon July 1.
