Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
1:31 p.m. Friday, June 5, 8345 South SR 19, Mentone. Drivers: Dyson Biltz, 17, South CR 1600E, Silver Lake, and Heather McGriff, 39, North CR 650E, Pierceton. Biltz was backing his vehicle out of a parking spot and struck McGriff’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
12:11 p.m. Friday, June 5, West CR 700S, and South CR 425W, Claypool. Driver: Jared Walerko, 23, South Tinkey Road, Mentone. Walerko attempted to avoid a collision with a semi and swerved his vehicle off the road and struck a utility pole. Walerko complained of neck pain and was taken to the hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
11:20 p.m. Friday, June 5, East Armstrong Road, East of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Jerry Baker, 74, EMS T32 Lane, Leesburg. Baker lost control and was flipped off of his bike. Baker suffered hip pain and road rash on both hands. He was also not wearing a helmet and was transferred to KCH for further medical treatment. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:11 p.m. Friday, June 5, 730 South Huntington Street, Syracuse. Driver: Latoya Wright, 28, West Boston Street, Syracuse. Wright pulled into a parking spot and struck a parked vehicle owned by Glen Knisley, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Damage up to $2,500.
