Frantz, Cannady Contribute For All-Stars
RICHMOND – Former area high school basketball standouts Jordan Frantz and Devin Cannady helped their respective Indiana All-Star teams to exhibition wins Monday night at Richmond High School.
Frantz, a former star at NorthWood High School, had four points, four rebounds and a pair of steals as the Indiana All-Star girls team topped the Jr. All-Stars 78-63.
Frantz, who will play at Saint Louis University, played nine minutes in the contest.
Camryn Buhr of Penn had five rebounds and two steals in 13 minutes of playing time for the Jr. All-Star squad.
Cannady, who starred at Mishawaka Marian High School, scored 13 points and added three assists as the Indiana All-Star boys team topped the Jr. squad 118-79.
Cannady, who is headed to play at Princeton, played 18 minutes. The All-Star boys team won easily despite being without Mr. Basketball Caleb Swanigan. The former star at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne and Purdue recruit is attending tryouts for the national team.
The All-Star teams will play a final exhibition tonight versus the Jr. All-Stars at Columbus North High School. They will then play the annual two-game series versus the Kentucky All-Stars Friday night at Transylvania University in Lexington (with the girls game first at 5:30) and at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday evening (with the girls game first at 5:00).
