Pierceton Hosting Party For The Park
The town of Pierceton has planned quite a shindig for this weekend: an evening of live music, BBQ, libations and a silent auction.
So what’s the reason for such celebration in this sleepy, little town? To kick off construction of the first phase of the town’s trailway project.
The Party For The Park starts and 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20 and runs until midnight at Washington Community Park, 508 S. Seventh St., rain or shine.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke and Hungry Blues Band at 7 p.m. Hometown Heroes will follow at 10 p.m.
Food and drink will be presented by The Sleepy Owl. Ribs, BBQ, beer and wine will be available to purchase throughout the event. A silent auction will also be held during the event. The event is for those 21 and older.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are available at 105 W. Walnut St. You may also call (574) 594-2213 or email Town Manager Chip Hill at [email protected] for tickets or more information.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. “Walkers” can sponsor $100, which includes two tickets, “Joggers” can sponsor $200, which includes four tickets, and “Runners” can sponsor $500, which includes six tickets.
Hill says the town will be bidding out the trailway project in the coming weeks. Hill hopes to build trails throughout the town, though he notes the full project could take several years.
The first phase of the trails will wrap around the baseball diamonds near the intersection of School Street and Seventh Street, on the southwestern corner of the town.
