Fast Start Carries Culver Past Triton
BOURBON – A slow start was too much for Triton to overcome Friday night as the hosts dropped a 37-19 final to Culver in Northern State Conference football action.
The Cavaliers raced to a 24-0 lead in the second quarter en route to collecting their first victory of the season versus the winless Trojans.
Triton quarterback Bryson Mosier was 16-29 through the air for 152 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with Grant Stichter seven times for 73 yards. Stichter, a sophomore, accounted for all of Triton’s touchdowns with touchdown receptions of 29, three and 13 yards.
Mosier also rushed for 62 yards on 10 carries for the Trojans.
Triton was out gained by just a 386-310 margin in total yards, but had three turnovers to just one for the Cavaliers.
Collin Stevens ran for a score, threw a touchdown pass and kicked a field goal for Culver. The Cavaliers also got a 65-yard touchdown run from Tucker Schultz and a 90-yard kickoff return for a score by Preston Hansel.
Triton (0-3, 0-1) hosts NSC foe Bremen next Friday night.
