Lions Club Fish Fry And Silent Auction
The Syracuse Lions Club will host its annual Jonah Fish Fry and Stan Fox Memorial Silent Auction from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 2, at the Syracuse Community Center, 1013 N. Long Drive.
The fish is all you can eat-in or carry out and tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for ages three through nine and children under three eat free. Desserts will also be available, with slices of pie for $1.
Tickets include entry to the silent auction, which occurs at the same time as the meal. Local merchants will have gift certificates and other items available for bidding.
Additionally, the Lions Club asks people to bring in used eye glasses and hearing aids to be recycled and distributed to underprivileged people all over the world.
The fish fry and silent auction is the Lions biggest fundraiser of the year and organizer Judy Jarrett said proceeds “go right back into the community.” The Lakeland Learning Center is one example and, according to Jarrett, the Lions will be more involved with testing hearing in schools in the coming years.
Tickets can be purchased from any Lions member. For more information call Judy Jarrett at (574) 457-5696.
