Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department report the victim in the New Paris shooting is 34-year-old Alan Brown. The incident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. Friday, June 26.

Brown was standing outside of his residence at 17152 CR 46, New Paris, when he was struck in the upper arm by a stray bullet. The bullet was fired from persons target shooting at a nearby residence.

He was transported to IU Health Goshen for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators will continue their investigation; however, no arrests have been made at this time
