Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
2:41 p.m. Monday, June 29, East CR 750N and North CR 300E, Leesburg. Driver: John G. Fisher, 72, North Kalorama Road, Leesburg. Hit Deer. Damage up to $10,000.
6:55 a.m. Monday, June 29, North SR 15 and West CR 900N, Milford. Drivers: Claude R. Elliott, 72, North Conner Court, Milford, and Kyle R. Flores, 21, North Perry Drive, Milford. Flores complained of pain to the chest and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Elliott drove his vehicle out in front of the Flores vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
8:59 p.m. Sunday, June 28, North CR 1000E, north of East Old Trail, Pierceton. Driver: Sarah L. Merriman, 36, Potomac Drive, Fort Wayne. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:10 p.m. Sunday, June 28, East CR 450N, east of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Michael J. Marsillett, 18, East CR 500N, North Webster, and Kayla A. Leonard, 20, North Woodlawn Street, Wheaton, Ill. Marsillett’s vehicle struck the back of the Leonard vehicle. Marsillett was cited for following too closely. Damage up to $5,000.
10:23 p.m. Saturday, June 27, North SR 15, south of West CR 600N, Leesburg. Drivers: Alejandro Velasquez, 17, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, and Harland J. Cole, 45, East CR 350N, Warsaw. Cole suffered an abrasion to the chest and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Velasquez was cited for no valid license and unsafe lane movement. Velasquez was attempting to pass another vehicle and failed to see the Cole vehicle coming from the opposite direction, causing the collision. Damage up to $25,000.
8:26 p.m. Friday, June 26, East Harper Road, south of East CR 700E, Leesburg. Driver: Alissa D. May, 17, North Grouse Court, Warsaw. May suffered lacerations to the elbow, but refused medical treatment. May’s vehicle slid on gravel, causing her to loose control. The vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. Damage up to $10,000.
9:26 a.m. Saturday, June 27, East Armstrong Road and North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Sarah E. Dalton, 45, Saddle Ridge Lane, Granger. Hit deer. Damage up to $10,000.
10:03 p.m. Thursday, June 25, East McClintic Road and North Fourth of July Avenue, Syracuse. Drivers: Walter D. Hawthorne, 40, West Elm Street, North Webster. Hawthorne’s vehicle went off the road, going through a ditch and becoming stuck in mud in a yard. He fled the scene of foot and was later apprehended. He was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:06 p.m. Sunday, June 28, North Long Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Beth M. Seabolt, 37, East Haiden Drive, Syracuse. Seabolt’s vehicle struck a parked car, registered to Julia A. Ousley, East DeFreese Road, Syracuse, while backing from a parking space. Damage up to $2,500.
7:05 p.m. Friday, June 26, South Huntington Street, north of West Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Michelle L. Bryant, 34, Gyr Court, New Paris, and Richard J. Kelley, 58, North Main Street, Syracuse. Kelley complained of pain to the neck. He and his passenger were taken to IU Health Goshen by a friend. Hanna Bryant, front seat passenger in the vehicle driven by Michelle Bryant complained of pain to her leg and was checked by paramedics. The driver stated she would take all three of her children to IU Health Goshen to be checked. Bryant was north on South Huntington Street, when a vehicle pulled out in front of her and she had not time to react. Damage up to $25,000.
4:26 p.m. Friday, June 26, West Railroad Avenue and South Syracuse-Webster Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Jay P. Choudhary, 22, North Ogden Point Road, Syracuse, and Megan L. Tinkey, 22, East Main Street, Syracuse. Choudhary stopped at the intersection, but failed to realize southbound traffic did not have to stop, pulling out in front of the Tinkey vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:28 p.m. Monday, June 29, North Detroit Street, north of Shelden Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Scott K. Harmon, 28, Robin Drive, Warsaw, and Brandi Streby, 35, North Nash Drive, Syracuse. Streby requested the two passenger in her vehicle to be checked by the EMs, they stated they had no injuries and were released at the scene. Harmon’s foot slipped off the brake and struck the back of the Streby vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
6:24 a.m. Monday, June 29, East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Brandin W. Troyer, 20, North CR 300E, Warsaw. Denise Y. Rabe, Chinworth Court, Warsaw, reported finding a scratch down the driver’s side of her vehicle with light blue paint transfer. She found the car parked next to her, owned by Troyer, had a scratch on the front corner and paint matching the color of her vehicle. Troyer stated he did not recall his vehicle hitting the other vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
