Anita Maralyn Caldwell Hamaker, 96, Sherman, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. She was born Dec. 8, 1918, in Silver Lake.

She married John Donald Hamaker, who preceded her in death. She most recently resided in Dallas, Texas.

She held a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and served a school teacher in Michigan and Texas.

Survivinga re two daughters: Maralyn Ann Hamaker; and Karen Margaret Hamaker Smith; son-in-law: Stephen Paul Smith; three grandchildren: Tania Mariah Smith Speed; Todd Weston Smith; and Chelsea Lindsay Smith Berg; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents: Anna Jacques and Leroy Caldwell; her sister: Florrie Christobel Caldwell Sears; and brothers: William Isaac and McClure Caldwell.

A memorial service is tentatively planned for August at the Claypool Graceland Cemetery. Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas, is entrusted with arrangements.
