Flood Watch Issued For Kosciusko County
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for areas of northern Indiana, including Kosciusko and surrounding counties. In addition, a hazardous weather outlook is in effect throughout the area.
According to the NWS, the flood watch is currently in effect from this evening to Thursday morning. The NWS notes there is a potential for widespread rainfall of 1 to 2 inches this evening through Thursday morning across the watch area. This amount of rainfall, onto already very damp ground, will likely create sufficient runoff for flooding on roadways, small streams and creeks. Basements and other low lying areas are also expected to be affected.
Widespread showers and scattered non-severe thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall amounts that have the potential to create localized flooding tonight. Periodic chances for thunderstorms Friday afternoon through Tuesday exist.
