Dean Foods Closing Rochester Plant
Dean Foods Company of Indiana says it plans to close a plant in Rochester, according to Inside INdiana Business.
A notice to the state says the move will affect 138 workers when layoffs begin on or before Oct. 16 and the layoffs will become permanent on or about Oct. 17. The plant is located at 1700 N. Old US 31, Rochester.
A letter to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the company expects the separations to be permanent. Affected employees are represented by the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union Local 5840.
The letter, received July 14, by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development Dislocated Workers Unit, is from Dean Dairy Holdings LLC.
Positions affected are from plant manager down to clean up workers, distribution supervisors to drivers.
