‘Down Home Boy’ Levi Riggs Entertains At Fair
Danville native Levi Riggs, who said he was a “down home country boy” and graduate of Purdue University entertained grandstandgoers at Kosciusko County 4-H Fair Tuesday evening.
Riggs has thrilled audiences since the age of 10 and now in his early 30s, proves at every show he is one of country music’s brightest and fastest rising stars. His non-stop energy, enthusiasm and smile was evident for the crowd right from the start of the show to the end.
Riggs lives the lifestyle he sings about, working with country music fans daily, selling corn and soybean seed to farmers in the state. He founded his own label Windridge Records and named it after the family’s Jersey dairy cattle farm.
During his years at Purdue he traveled to stages all over the world with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. He has learned to craft his recordings to fit his live show.
His first single, “My Best Friend’s A Girl” peaked at No. 52 on Bilboard Indicator and exploded with excitement with fans begging to hear it at his concerts.
Riggs has performed for the WE Fest, the largest outdoor country music festival in the United States, and has opened for The Band Perry, Jason Aldean, Travis Tritt, Easton Corbin, Colt Ford, Justin Moore, BLackhaw, Jo Dee Messina, Brett Eldredge and others.
RIggs sings and writes about what is true to him, even on the heavier side of subjects. The tipping point of his career was in 2014. His single “I’m Good” reached the Top 40 status and continued to rise. He also opened for such stars as Trace Atkins, Tracy Lawrence, Bret Michaels.
