MU Names Machielson New Dean Of Student Experience
NORTH MANCHESTER — Manchester University has named Allen Machielson the new dean of student experience. A Huntington area resident, he had previously been associate dean of student development and director of residence life.
Machielson will oversee the student experience center in his new role, effective immediately. The center is designed to support personal, academic and co-curricular learning opportunities for students.
“Allen will provide the vision, leadership and management of our university-wide efforts to enhance the student experience,” said Tim McElwee, vice president of academic resources.
Machielson has served in a variety of roles at Manchester since 2007, including leading the residential life program and serving as interim campus pastor. He has also been a member of the SuccessNet and counseling teams, as well as supervising campus safety services.
Machielson brings 20 years of experience in higher education leadership with special emphasis on co-curricular learning. He completed his undergraduate degree at Calvin College and holds a master’s degree in education from Sacred Heart University.
