Parkview Places Final Beam
WARSAW — The final beam in Parkview Hospital’s new Warsaw location is in place, completing yet another phase of the construction of the 86,000 square-foot facility.
Representatives from Parkview and the local community gathered at noon Wednesday July 29, to witness as a large crane hoisted the beam in place, completing yet another phase in the construction process.
Parkview Health President and CEO Mike Packnett likened the 90-degree day to the groundbreaking ceremony back in January, when temperatures hit -10 degrees, Fahrenheit. Festivities included a performance by the Parkview Singers, guest speakers and a luncheon following the topping out ceremony.
Guest speakers included Packnett; Gary Pitts, MD, Parkview Physicians Group Family Medicine; Tim Minear, Parkview Warsaw YMCA board chairperson; Emily Cowen, Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce board chairperson; Scott Gabriel, president, Parkview Whitley Hospital and Parkview Warsaw; and Rev. Patrick Riecke, Parkview interim director of chaplaincy and volunteers.
Parkview, Warsaw, will open in phases. The first will be complete in 2016 when the physicians move in. In February, outpatient services will open.
Highlights of the Parkview, Warsaw, location will include a full-service emergency room, a helipad, diagnostic imaging, outpatient lab services, outpatient rehabilitation, primary care physicians and specialty physicians.
In all, Parkview Warsaw is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs.
