Wilma Jean Shepherd
Wilma Jean Shepherd, 86, of Tomahawk Trail, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at the South Bend Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
Wilma was born on Jan. 3, 1929, in Plymouth, to Edward and Ruby (Carlisle) Marsh, both of whom preceded her in passing. Wilma married Gerald W. Shepherd on Oct. 11, 1985. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who put the needs of others before her own. She was a gifted seamstress, loved to do crafts and work in her garden.
Wilma is survived by her loving husband: Gerald Sheperd, Plymouth; sons: Lloyd Bakian, Plymouth; John Bakian, South Bend; Rick (Maxine) Bakian, Etna Green; Michael Berger, Plymouth; daughters: Linda Thomas, Plymouth; Roberta (Charles) Reatherford, Culver; also surviving are wilma’s 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister: Thelma Mullins, Argos; brother: Harold (Pam) Marsh, Plymouth. Wilma is preceded in passing by her two brothers: Charles (Violet) Marsh; and Ronald (Maxine) Marsh; sister: Betty Wallace; and grandson: Jason Bakian.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth. Services will be immediately after at 6 p.m. also at the funeral home, with Chaplain Alex Jack officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Center for Hospice Care, Plymouth, or to the South Bend Hospice House, South Bend.
