Valley Sports Wrap – Aug. 18
AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team opened its season with a 5-0 loss to Bremen Tuesday evening.
The Lions won all five matches in straight sets in the win.
Bryce Devine topped Trevor Neeley 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles to pace Bremen to the victory.
Zach Burkholder defeated Keith Wright 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Carter Filchak completed the singles sweep by stopping Nick Caudill 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 action.
The team of Ryker Hand and Jake Strehler teamed for a 6-0, 6-1 win over Dakota Parker and Seth Hoffman at No. 1 doubles. Bremen won at No. 2 doubles as Chandler Snyder and Bryce Sterling topped Parker Dalrymple and Eric Wright 6-0, 6-0.
Bremen won all three junior varsity singles matches as Josh Ukinski beat Alex Kromkowski, Jordan Thornton topped Garett Feldman and Evan Reed bested Dylan Sponseller.
