Simon Smith, 91, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at his home.

He was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Noble County, to Howard and Veronica (Simon) Smith. On Dec. 31, 1976, he married Millie Eustler, who survives. He was a USMC Veteran. He moved to Syracuse from Fort Wayne in 1979, where he was superintendent of Fort Wayne Harvester.

He was a member of the Cromwell Lutheran Church. Other clubs and lodges include Syracuse Eagles, Wolf Lake VFW #4717, North Webster Legion Post 253, and Three Rivers Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by wife: Millie Smith, Syracuse; Cheryl (Mike) Nicolet, Fort Wayne; Marcia (Bruce) Arnold, Lima, Ohio; stepdaughter: Debra (Dennis) Runkle; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Paul (Gloria) Smith, Fort Wayne. He was preceded by one brother.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at the McClintic cemetery at a later date to be announced.
