Programs and events for September:

Guest speaker Dr. Kevin Day talks about your cholesterol from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. Register to find out what your doctor may not tell you.

Teens are invited to drop in to play video games or watch a movie. Ages 13-18 only. Drop in zone will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The Off the Shelf Reading Group meets from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, to discuss “The Ice Cream Queen of Orchard Street” by Susan Jane Gilman.

The genealogy club meets from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 8, for question and answer time.

New release Tuesday movie is from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8., and from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15. Call or check online to see what movie is showing. PG-13.

Lake City Piecemakers Quilt Club meets from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11.

Chess Club meets from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 12, in the Hogan Activity Room.

Cookbook Club meets from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Vegetarian dishes are the focus of this meeting, so bring your recipes, and taste a dish.

The Knit and PURL club has it’s meeting from 6-7:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Bring your project, as help is available for both beginners and experts.

Writer’s club topics this month are “Scary Olde Schoolhouse” and “Origins.” They meet from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

Hooked on Crochet will have two meetings this month to learn to crochet a dishcloth. Bring a small ball (2 1/2 to 3 oz.) of worsted weight yarn, and a size “H” crochet hook. Begin and finish your dish rag from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Tuesday, Sept. 22. Only beginners need register.

There will be an IRA workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Gluten Free Support Group meets from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Wendesday, Sept. 16.

Introduction to quilting will be in two parts, where you will learn the basics of quilting, batting, backing and binding. Register for these meetings. Part one will be from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17. Part two will be from 9:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24.

Guest speaker Jennifer Hoover, RPH, from Walgreen Drug store, talks about Blood Pressure and cholesterol Management from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22. Register for this discussion.

There will be an eBay class from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22. Learn how to buy and sell on eBay. Register for this class.

The card making class with stampin’ up consultant Faith Ketterer will be from 6-7:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. Register at the reference desk with a $4 non-refundable cash deposit. Pay additional $4 at time of class.
