Lucille Joy Teel, 97, of Greenwood, where she had lived for the last two years and formerly of Milford, and the Akron and Mentone, area passed at 10:10 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at Greenwood Meadows of Greenwood.

She was born April 3, 1918, in Etna Green, William and Ruth (Jones) Stutzman. She first married Wade Whetstone. He preceded her in death. Then she was married on Nov. 2, 1946, in Akron, to Wilvin Teel he preceded Nov. 11, 2012.

She operated Lucille’s Beauty Shop in Mentone and at their farmhouse south of Mentone, retiring after 44 years. She was a graduate of Etna Green High School as Valedictorian in 1936 and received her beauticians training in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She loved gardening, cooking and her family dearly.

She is survived by daughter: Luana (Ted) Myers, Indianapolis; son: Jim Teel, Rock Island, Ill.;
seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister: Ann Burnett, Warsaw; brother: Arden Stutzman, Nappanee.

She was preceded in death by sons: Denny Teel; Bill (Susan) Whetstone; sisters: Carol Rogers Simon and Helen Hall; brother: Ivo Stutzman.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Burial will be held at Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
